you may not believe me, but it's true. the first time i quit, i was in a small room and 4 of us were chain smoking. i got so sick, i never touched them again. then when i was in rehab, i started up again (15 years later!). i chain smoked the whole thirty days i was there. when i went home, my son was so disgusted that i smoked, so i just stopped. i know that sounds crazy and i know it doesn't happen all the time, but i believe God was giving me a break since i had just gone through a very awful detox! sometimes He lets us go through things so we don't do it again, and sometimes He gives us a break. good luck, i'll pray for you. it;s supposed to be harder than getting off heroin. but DO NOT give up! you'll be so happy when you beat it! =0)

I've been a pretty heavy smoker since I was 11. I quit once for about 6 weeks, and then last year I quit for 5 months. Unfortunately I started back. I had quit (the 5 mo. period) with prayer, and the diagnosis from the Doctor revealed that I had COPD. I quit cold turkey, and then chewed the gum off and on until I started back.

I made up my mind to quit and proved that I was stronger the the addiction. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. But the benefits were so worth it. If your trying to quit the I wish you all the best.

I just stopped smoking. Cold Turkey. Woke up one morning with enough will power to say NO, and I haven't had one since.

Believe it or not, I got hypmotized. I quit for a year, than I had to drink a sip of champagne to celebrate new years, then just one puff of a cigerette, then I started again. But right when I woke up from being hypnotized, I saw a ashtray of cigerette butts, and they actually made me feel like throwing up. but it did last for a year. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried the patch, gum, and cold turkey, guess what I am still smoking. I guess you really have to want to quit to stop.

Been 5 months now, no marlboro...and still have no desire...Doc put me on it for tiredness had no intention of giving up my cigs. It just happened!!!!!

hypnotism, but no matter what method you use you really have to want to quit. If it's you that plans on giving it up, good luck.
