Yes, definately. i was reading this question today in which one guy said that UC berkeley accepts 51% asians and 3% african americans and he strongly believed that there was a problem with this.
One person replied that stat didnt prove that the school was not diverse, but rather it shows that many asians simply work their *** off, and not complain which made a lot of sense to me.

Actually, one revelelation did come to me. The fact is that most "questions" are in fact not meant to be questions but are instead attempts to make a personal statements.
I've since applied this realization to my "normal" life, and found the same there. Most of the time when a person makes an inquiry, they don't actually want knowledge, but validation.
In Y!A, this is confirmed when I've seen or received resentful comments when that validation is not received by the questioner, even though the answer was given in good faith.
This has made me more mindful of the motive behind any inquiry in the first place, and more attentive to the questioner's reaction, knowing that it will be judged more by it's compliance to pre-determined standards than the correctness or honesty of my response.

Lot of questions and lot of answers. I was (and am to some extent) going through a breakup and sense of not finding great meaning in life (independant from the breakup story) - when I see what's out there, I sit there and go... "hhhmmm.... i am not the only one who is looking around for meaning and coming out of sadness). But I wouldn't put it like altered my life greatly, but definitely a nice change towards peacefulness.

The questions Yes !
the pattern of the human brain is to become single tracked so it goes around in circles thinking that what it is doing is the best.
coming to yahoo answers, has really opened my eyes that I am not the only one in this type of thought pattern.
I have only answered questions ! and to tell you the truth it has changed me far more than I can believe myself. Initially I used to think that all the people are so wise. But reality has it other wise.
I Am really Glad that god guided me to this site. now I am happy in answering questions.

Yeah, someone recently asked about the use of Apple Cider Vinegar. Several reported that it cured their acid reflux (GERD), so I bought some Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, I take 1 tablespoon in 8 oz water, twice a day and my acid reflux is gone! My quality of life has vastly improved!
