I'm not one to ask these kind of questions but...

I've been on birth control for 2mos now. Before then, my cycles were about 30-31 days. Last month my cycle was 28 days. This month, I am a week early.

Is this normal? Why did this happen? Do I finish the pack of pills I have or do I start the new pack?

Thank you for your help.

Continue with your pack of pills as normal. Your body is getting used to the new hormones and you may have some spotting or early periods for up to 4 months. Be sure that you are taking your pill at the same time everyday and that you are not skipping any pills, as this can prompt you body to began bleeding early. Stick to the pack and begin the next one when scheduled.

Continue to take your pills as normal. It can take about 3 to 4 months for your body to adjust to the pill. What you are experiencing is a side effect called break through bleeding. It doesn't actually compromise your protection, but if you don't feel comfortable use a back up method like condoms.

DO NOT STOP TAKING YOUR PILLS! If you haven't taken at least 21 pills in a row and you take a break, you will compromise your protection and you could get pregnant.

It is normal to have your period any day during the placebo/week off.

If you don't trust me, ask your doctor or pharmacist. If this persists through next month, see your doctor. You may need to switch brands.

no this won't do anything because your uterine lining is already built up by this point in your cycle, and your body hasn't adjusted to the hormones in birth control. you can use any type of birth control, but skipping your period increases the chance of breakthrough bleeding/spotting. if you want to continually skip your period, opt for one made for it, like Lybrel, Seasonale, Seasonique, and Nuvaring has the capability to stop it, too. I doubt you can get a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Especially since it is NOT a medical emergency. That and it would be pointless because, as I said, it won't do anything at this point to stop your period. Norethisterone is just a type of progestin, which is a hormone in most birth control pills. It is not any more 'difficult' to get a prescription for than anything else. You may be able to get it from a planned parenthood, but asking for it by the hormone name won't get you anywhere. Just look at different types of birth control and pick the one that is most convenient for you. But as I said, again, starting it tomorrow will not do ANYTHING to delay your period.

Don't change your pill cycle. Take the three weeks plus placebo week just like normal. Sometimes your body might not adjust to the pills very quickly. They can cause spotting in between periods as well as change your periods completely. Give it a couple more months and see if it gets better. If not, go see your dr.

its not odd at all... Its called break through bleeding and it happens to some women and they don't know why and it sucks. Let your doctor know and they should try you on a different dose. Sometimes just changing brands can make a difference. It does happen though, i get break through bleeding a lot, usually after i have been on a birth control for a few months. I didn't have break through bleeding with the patch, which is probably because its a little higher dose but don't worry, it just happens to some women. When it happens to me, i usually just stop taking that pack, finish my period and start the pack again on the Sunday after my period but i would talk to your doctor about what to do when it happens and prepare yourself, you might have to try several different birth controls before you find one that works for you. But its normal, it just happens to some people.

Keep taking your pills as usual every day at the same time.

Give it a few more pill packs.

Stress could possibly be a factor as well, even with the pill.

That is very odd and should NOT have happened. Something has gone haywire. I would see a doctor NOW and use extra protection if having sex
