it depends on the husband if his sperm has more x cells then y cells then it will be a boy and the other way around a girl

male is XY and female is XX chromosome wise. since the women contributes half of the genetic material she always contributes and X so it is dependent on the father sperm be it X or Y to determine the sex of the child.
this is the accepted and classical answer to your question

I have heard that the mothers body chemistry has a lot to do with it as well, because remember that eggs might become feterlized but never grow or implant themselves into the uterous - the mothers body chemistry is thought by some to help determine the sex in this way, or so I have heard. Reproduction is very delicate and so many things can sway and change the complex interactions - tommarrow we might discover something totally new

But if you have to blame someone blame the father.

The sex of the baby depends on the man, it's his sperm that determines the sex of the baby, they are either xy (male) or xx(female) and depending on which one fertilises the egg that is what the baby will be.

Also Debbie22's theory on this is a load of crap, if her theory were true I should have a girl not a boy -
Month - June = 6
Age - 23
Add them together = 29
Odd number by her theory means I should have a girl
I gave birth to a BOY

I think i get what you are talking about and the sex of your baby is determined by the male sperm. Females only carry the "xx" chromosomes and males carry "xy". When a baby is created it gets one chromosome from the mother and one from the father. so it gets an "x" for sure from the mom and either an "x" from the dad or a "y" from the dad. If the dad gives it an "x" it will be a girl if he gives it a "y" it will be a boy simple as that. =)

The sex of a child is determined by the male. A female has only X chromosomes. A male has X and Y chromosomes. If a X and Y come together during fertilization, the child will be a male; if a X and a X come together, the child will be a female.

It depends on the male.

The woman has XX chromosomes and can only donate an X chromosome to the egg.

Meanwhile, men are XY. That means that a sperm can be given a Y chromosome or X chromosome.

So after intercourse when the sperm is inside it can can come out as an XX fusion (girl) or a XY fusion (boy).

a man will either fertilizes the egg with an X which is girl or a Y which is a boy. so a man carries an X and Y chromosome. (boy or a girl)

a women only has an X chromosome. (a girl)
so if left up to the women we would have way too many little girls around. haha

X+X= girl
X+Y= boy

a women does determine how many babies. they can drop 1 egg or several eggs.

does that make any sense- I'm not a very good teacher... ;)

It is always the male that determines the sex of the child. It is not position, or anything silly like that.
It is the physical makeup of the sperm that is delivered during sex.

The male sperm determines the sex of the child. Some sperm are male, some female. The males are faster, the females hardier.

"Borning" of all babies, male or female, almost always depends on sex between males and females, including husbands and wifes. Did I answer your question?
