No it is not......A right triangle is triangle with an angle of ( radians). The sides , , and of such a triangle satisfy the Pythagorean theorem

so if the a,b,and c are 12, 16 & 21 respectively...then
12^2+16^2=21^2
144+256 should be 441 but it is 144+256=400 so NO this is not a rt triangle! :o)

Check it with the Pythagorean Theorem.

12^2 + 16^2 = 21^2 if the triangle is a right triangle.
144 + 256 = 441 That doesn't add up, so NO, it isn't a right triangle.

If 12^2 + 16^2 = 21^2 it is a right triangle.
If 12^2 + 16^2 > 21^2 it is an acute triangle.
If 12^2 + 16^2 < 21^2 it is an obtuse triangle.

In this example you 400 < 441, therefore it is an obtuse triangle and not a right.

enable x = between the leg y = between the leg all of us know x + y = 17 y= 17- x x^2 + y^2 = 13^ 2 (pythagorean theorem) x^2 + (17 -x) ^2 = 169 x^2 + 289 - 34x + x^2 = 169 2x^2 - 34x + one hundred twenty = 0 x^2 -17x +60 = 0 (x-5)(x-12) = 0 x = 12 or 5 seeing that x and y value are literally not certain, then both x or y would properly be 12 or 5. So the legs are 5cm and 12 cm in lengths.

According to pythagorean theorem at your given longerst side of the triangle, you suppose to have 20cm at your longest side to make it 90º and not 21cm. the sides should be 12cm, 16cm, and 20cm. use the formula to get the longest side for right triangle:
c = √(a²+b²).
