Oddly enough, I'd say some of the Greek gods/goddesses are kind of scary and have that "creepiness factor" to them. Maybe it's the way their voices are deepened and echoes as if it's far away (at least that's how it's portrayed in movies).

Oh, and one more...

the "moth-man"...that monster moth creature which was spotted in West Virginia and Ohio in the late 60's. What makes it scary is that before it appeared to certain people, bad things happened which usually resulted in death and destruction. Love this question and some of the responses! Absolutely love it!

The one I see in the mirror every morning.
She could be a tool for healing or destruction. What she will ultimately wind up doing with her day is unknown at that point.
She could do something really great, or cause a complete disaster. Just getting up and resolving to go out into the world,
you touch every life you meet, and have no idea ultimately what effect that will have in the long run...

A praying mantis!

The damn thing turns it's head to look at you as if it is human! It's like it knows something we don't and I hate that!

Insects have no business having human qualities! It's just eerie!

If you don't believe me, the next time you see one, walk all the way around it and watch it follow you by turning it's spooky little head!

Damn they're creepy!

The Shark. Why!
Because it'll scary as hell just to jump in the middle of the ocean and just having to think that there is a huge fish trying to hunt you.

The reptillian humanoids who live deep inside the earth and can assume human form at will. It's even scarier if you think they might be controlling our society and culture, in disguise. Politicians, church leaders, business tycoons, anyone could be one, even trusted family friends.

Man is the scariest creature. Look what mankind is doing to the planet and other animals...and each other! Yikes.

I would've said Medusa - look into her eyes, and be turned to stone, plus that whole hair of snakes thing, but I've gotten over my reptilian fears...
So I guess now it's my credit card company, because I owe them so much money! Yikes!!!
;-)
