I think it hurts a man more if his woman cheats, because of the following:
--Men are more visual, very easy to "seduce", have less ability to not act on sexual feelings
--For a woman to have sex with a man generally requires an emotional investment on her part (not just physical, as it can so easily for men)
--Men have fewer resources to draw on than women (close friends, belief in counseling, etc.) in trying to overcome feelings of grief and betrayal as occur with infidelity.

I think whichever one is the most sensitive in each case.
It also depends on what each person in the relationship thinks of as being cheating.
Each person is different, and therefore each person's intensity of pain will vary.
In some relationships one will feel like dying, while the other could care less (some people tend to marry or are drawn to total polar opposites).
In some relationships, both could be hurt.
And in some few relationships, neither care so much (swingers, or those with wild fantasies, etc.).

I'd have to say that it hurts for the both female and male. Although it seems like females get hurt more often, males have the same problems.. they just don't show it.

It could go both ways as a man I know I've had my share of heart breaks. I took it differently then I've woman take it. But we are all different so the reactions will be different but the pain could very well be the same. I have a friend we call Face, when he caught his lady in the act he tried to blow himself away with a shot gun now he goes through life with 90% of his face gone forever. All I did was drink and find someone to do it with....

Men don't show their feelings it doesn't mean they don't have any. It hurts to be cheated on why does it matter what gender gets betrayed it feels the same like ****!

what i want to know is this what the hell does gender have to do with whether or not infidelity and betrayal hurts a broken heart is a broken heart no matter if your male or female.

Everybody hurts sometime.
We always hurt the ones we love.
Cheating sux. PERIOD
The cheatee(?) will hurt more than the cheater regardless of being male or female.
And some people could care less. again, either sex
