I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima, and whenever I am driving at a pretty good speed and hit a little bump, my car wobbles. Does anyone know what causes this?

Also sometimes when going over a bump that makes the car bounce, I hear a creaking noise in the front of the car, like something is loose or bouncing around in there. Can anyone help me answer these questions?

Sounds like bad struts for a start. It isn't that safe to drive in its current condition. If you have to do an evasive maneuver, you could lose control. Get it checked out.

It's a fairly light car. Tomorrow morning, go out and grab the top of each tire and try shaking it in and out.

If it makes a "clunking" noise, get it checked out.

Hell, get it checked out anyway. Better safe than sorry.

It's probably your U-joints in your front wheels.
Check out this web site. It will tell you all about it.
