If I were to borrow my neighbors marker plates when I went to get gas, would he get arrested or would I?

Been fueding with my neighbor for quite some time now. He's been doing things to damage some of my things.

I want to know if I were to take his license marker plates off his car and go to the gas station, fill up my car and leave without paying, return the plates back to his car, would the gas station's surveillance camera just take down his marker plate, or would they check it against the car I'm driving and me (in a hooded sweatshirt of course)?

Your neighbor would just blame you since he knows what type of vehicle you drive. So when the officer describes what type of vehicle had the plates, he would blame you. So it doesn't sound like it will work. I give it 45% of working perfectly, without any consequences.

thanks-you are the reason honest folks like me get stuck making two trips to pay and get change from the attendant.

and if you actually try this the gas station will report the make of the car to the cops along with the tag number, as will your neighbor who will be reporting his tags stolen. when the cops mention what kind of car it was odds are he will point the finger at you.

Oddly enough, it depends on the station.

A lot of the corporate stations like Quicktrip and Kum-n-go dont prosecute drive offs for gas. They dont figure its worth their employees time off to testify and stuff.

In Iowa, if you drive off without paying, you can lose your drivers liscense.....

Better just to figure a way to steal gas from the neighbor.....

is your neighbor a man or woman??
wouldn't the camera at the station be taking a picture of your car??
