The further along you get in your pregnancy, the harder your stomach will feel all the time. During Braxton Hicks contractions, which all women have, but don't always feel, you may feel a tightening in your stomach, but then it releases. It is your uterus that does the contracting. It is not uncommon for the baby to do some moving during a contraction, so you may be feeling a little of both, the Braxton Hicks contraction along with the baby's movement.

Well in my experience your stomach can be hard without having contractions.

If you drink some water and lay down and rest for an hour see if you are still feeling the pains. If you are start timing them. If they get to be about 5 mins or your water breaks go to the hospital.

Just remember there are general guidelines, but every woman/body/pregnancy is different.

When you have a contraction it feel like the baby is balling up in a ball in your stomach. You can lie down and drink water and if the pain is still coming after drinking, i would say you probably are.

You would know when you are getting the real contractions...if you aren't bleeding and nothing is hurting then it shouldn't be anything serious...but yeah you would for sure know if you are having contractions.

Just because your stomach gets hard during pregnancy does not mean you are having a contraction. You will know when it is a contraction, believe me, you will feel it. No doubt about it.

This is what every mom told me, you will just know when its time. Sure enough I knew. The contractions are extremly hard and strong. I knew right away. good luck

First question: How far along are you?

Second question: Have you timed them? Do they have any type of regularity?
