They can be scary if you have no idea what is happening to you.

These are matters of spirit and, I am sad to say, this time in teh world is not particularly spiritual. Many people would just not know where to begin.

Many people get into psychic trouble by going where they should not go in the psychic world. It is very good to approach these things with a healthy dollop of fear and respect for the things you dabble in.

They can be scary if you have denied that psychic things even exist and find yourself in the middle of one.

But, in truth, it is amazing how much goes on with us that is basically psychic in nature and it is so much part of us that we do not even notice. I refer to deja vu. I refer to meeting someone and taking an instint inexplicable like or dislike to them. I refer to "gut" feelings. Just those things.

Listen to your hunches.

It is a shame people are afraid of these things. I know I embraced the skills when they came. All children have these skills when they are young and in quite a few cultures they aer encouraged and considered normal. For some sad reason, here in the west, children are laughed at or just shy. Somehow often it is gone by the time the child is into school.

To be honest, America is an occult nation and these things are being thrown at our children constantly. Psychic matters permeate every programme on air, in one way or another. Cartoons to teen television... movies... Harry Potter.... it is inexcapable. When did this happen? When did the clear fresh air of America become polluted with discontented spirits and smog?

Being physic or getting a physic reading often makes people feel out of control and that they have no free will. Also there are many people claiming to be able to predict the future that are nothing more than clever con artists looking for a fast buck. I do believe real physics do exit however.
If you watch the movie Down the Rabbit hole, you will see that many scientists believe that thoughts are really vibrations, and at the quantum level of the universe, we are all connected in the past, present and future. Some people have the gift of being able to tap into the probable futures of the quantum unified field and make predictions. In fact the CIA had a program for years that hired people who were gifted in that area, to do what was called remote viewing. They would go into a trance and mentally get a picture of say a Russian missile site and try to describe the activity there. You could imagine that talent would have made the Russians uneasy, except they had a similar spy program also.
Most people think of physic predictions as being written in stone which could be scary, particularly if they come up with what we might interpret as a bad reading. But we all have free will, and any prediction can be changed by just deciding to think other thoughts. For instance, a mother might easily make a prediction without being physic, that playing in the street could get you run over. All a physic ever does is get a mental picture of a probable future based on the strongest most dominant thought patterns you have been thinking over your life time. While some might find that scary, you might instead explore the idea of being a deliberate creator, and see if you couldn't find ways to influnce your furture in a positve way.

Because people don't like the idea of accepting something that they have no proof for. It just goes against most people's logical thought process, and what you've been taught since you were a little kid.

If something is 'material' then it has proof. The scientific method can explain anything and everything, all that stuff you learn makes you unable to believe the paranormal.

I personally am open to experiences both normal and paranormal and won't discredit either until I have 'proof' in the negative.

I think it is because people are uncomfortable with things that are out of the ordinary. Often, they are taught that reality consists of a certain set of things, and those things alone. So when something comes along that does not fit, and that challenges the dominant way of looking at things, they freak out to some degree. However, I also feel that many people love to discover there is more to life than appears at the surface.

Theres not very many people you can ask about them without being looked at like a freak. So it stands to reason that they might frighten someone when it happens to them. In addition the entire church dogma is completely against anything of the sort, so some people think something is wrong with them or they are being chased by evil if it happens to them.

People fear what they don't understand. We don't have the technology to understand what occurs when an event happens that we would consider psychic or supernatural. Experience of such things is subjective, and personal, and we fear not only the unknown, but also the reactions of those around us if we should talk about such things when they happen....
