I would take Barry Sanders and Marshall Faulk. Barry Sanders is either one of, if not THE, best RB in NFL history. He made people miss that had no business missing. He had a rare combination of power and finesse that all RBs try to replicate. I would take Marshall Faulk because of the versatility he brings to the table. He could do anything you asked him to. If the coach needed him to catch out of the backfield, he caught the ball. If the coach need him to run, he did that too, very, very well.

Barry Sanders (finess, speed, agility)
LT (power, speed, only scores TDs)
Both are home run hitters and can be a reciever in the back field. The linebackers today are MUCH MORE stronger and faster than the past. Someone like Jim Brown might have trouble against today's defences. Barry Sanders and LT wouls still find a ways to run 80yds touchdowns.

Barry Sanders is THE most skilled player ever to step onto a football field he played almost half as many games as emmit and has around 4 thousand yards less. He is 60 Tds away form the record and retired at 28 or 29 right in his prime. My theory is he did it out of respect to Walter Payton because Emmit was nowhere near the record HE WAS and he let it go out of respect to a legend. And with deep deep sorrow to Jim Brown and Walter Payton i gota take Earl Campbell. He was just unstoppable in his prime. He could not be taken down it was just plain frightening. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut give LT two years he's replacing Earl.

To me a running back is more then just a runner. Running, catching and blocking as well. Also don't forget team leadership.
With that being said: Jim Brown and Marshall Faulk

Campbell and Tomlinson. One would punish you and one is all around great player. Dont get me wrong Faulk , Dickerson, Payton,Sanders all these players were great, but to me these are the best. You left one guy off I think deserves mention here is Tony Dorsett.

it depends on the type of team they are gunna be on, different running backs are better suited for different teams, power backs more suited for defensive teams, and balanced or "quick" backs are generally better for a more offensive team. But if i were to take two on a normal team out of those options id prob take Barry Sanders and LT
