What a hard thing to narrow down --but here goes:

1. Beatles
2. Eagles
3. Fleetwood Mac
4. The Who
5. Moody Blues
6. Blood Sweat & Tears
7. Chicago
8. Jethro Tull
9. Mamas & the Papas
10.Crosby, Stills & Nash

I could have named so many more--and so many single artists that I loved --and still do .--like Carly Simon, James Taylor, Cat Stevens., Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin.
Well let's just name a couple more bands while we're at it anyway-- hahah--
Pink Floyd, Cream, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, The Doors, Blondie, The Pretenders, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, The R.Stones, oh well I best stop there.
Thanks -- Good question, bluedevil. : )

Best time period for music, in my opinion!

1. The Rolling Stones
2. The Who
3. The Doors
4. The Beatles
5. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
6. Led Zeppelin
7. Jethro Tull
8. Jefferson Airplane
9. The Band
10. The Velvet Underground
11. (sorry!) Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)

If you had said "artists" instead of "bands", then Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix would be somewhere on that list.

Oh wow. I forgot Cream and Pink Floyd. Make them 12 and 13. Ten is too low a number for all the great bands from this time period!
