Let your HR department know. Sometimes, you just have to grind it out until next payday for your money. If they screw up again next time, try to be a little more direct.

contact the payroll department with precise details of the underpayment worked out. Tell them this is causing you finanacial hardhip and you would like a cheque for 2/3rds of the amount due in the post on that day. Do not be put off , any payroll dept should have these procedures in place. Your payslip next month will reflect the amount due and what you have been paid as an interim payment. If you have not received a cheque within 48 hours contact your union rep.

File the appropriate paperwork with the payroll department.
Talk to the Payroll Supervisor - and keep your composure!
For most companies, if it's more than just a few dollars (the cut-off in my company is $20), they will usually be willing to cut you a manual cheque. Might take a week or so before they can do so, though.

How frequent have they been wrong in the past and to what value.?
They must rectify this for you stratight away if it is casuing you hardship and you are not being paid as per your contract.
Speak to them asap and explain your circumstances. You do not have to give them all the detail, If no help speak to ACAS they will assist.
