FDA Regulators Using Legal Trickery to Kill Alternative Procedures and Products
The FDA is using legal maneuvering to end your access to natural health products (like vitamins, minerals and herbs) and natural health therapies of all sorts. Again. This time, their ploy is to declare the therapies are "Medicine" so any non-physician who uses them will be practicing medicine without a license. Since these practices are "Medicine", any products used would be untested drugs and therefore forbidden.
Your Comments are Vitally Important
Public, professional and industry comments are being accepted on the FDA proposal to "capture" alternative procedures and products as "medicine" and then make them illegal. The history of these repressive attacks by the FDA makes it clear that public outcry, IN HUGE NUMBERS, is the only effective tool that natural health supporters have to change this disastro

I expected to see a few blind sheeples like Madam M. Evidently some cannot read of think for themselves. If you can. READ THIS: http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?page_id=157 Then answer. IF youy have any sembalance of intelligence you will read everything you can on this subject. The entire mosaic in information on this subject is terrifying beyond belief. Some say they can never control it. They can, they will control like they do cocain, heroin and marajuana. This will create a HUGE high priced BLACK MARKET! Just like any type of prohibition it will create a new criminal and a new criminal industry. Have a look at this picture. OUR schools are going down the drain while prisons can't be build fast enough to house all the new criminals they create. Thank Halaburtion Corp for that.

Personally, I'm glad the FDA is there. I've heard of so many scams where manufacturers don't actually put in what they say they've put into "health supplements."

If you want to choose alternative methods, the best way is to grow it yourself, or get it from a trusted grower. I don't think the FDA will ever figure out a way to regulate nettles.

We need government oversight for herbal products -- there are too many quacks and scamsters out there ready to take advantage of people who read on Yahoo! Answers that creatine was good, or people who heard from some friend that milk thistle will cure cancer.

I'm not saying that herbs are bad -- but the consumer needs to take the time to research what they are getting , their dis-ease, and various other things. No one wants to return to the days of Lily The Pink's magical elixirs.

No harm no foul! I am a Christian, and unfortunately too many so called Christians give real Christians a bad name. Christianity is not a religion by the way, it is a way life based on faith obtained by grace. But that should be a different answer. God has provided everything for us, and it is how we choose to use it that messes everything up. Good stewardship is a big part of faith. The FDA has been useful in exposing scams, but keep your eye on them. Don't be ignorant! Everyone needs to know what is going on. The scams are out there, and the people involved with the FDA are not immuned to doing there own thing. The bottom line is, don't take anyones word for it. In my own opinion, we don't have freedom as the forefathers intended, and I doubt that we ever will. Things are going to get worse over time, and it is important that we educate ourselves and do what we can to keep what freedoms we have left. I do everything I can to stay healthy and most of my supplements are homeopathic. If they take that ability away from me, I will then have to spend hundreds of dollars a month to take pharmecutical products. Since I cannot afford that, I will just have to eat right and exercise and leave the rest up to God. The sad thing is that most of the freedoms being taken away all stem from greed. It is mostly about the money! One medication I am suppose to be taking costs over $100.00 a month. The comparable natural treatment costs me under $25.00 a month. So why would they regulate supplements? This would put pharmaceutical companies out of business. Right now medical doctors are not allowed to advise someone concerning natural remedies and supplements. The people I know who give advise concerning these things do have a license in homeopathic medicine. I am really not too worried about them requiring that someone be trained in the field except that once again we are talking about money. The price of these supplements will skyrocket removing my abililty to obtain access to these things. It is a shame that we cannot trust our officials to make choices with our best health in mind. A friend of mine and I were just talking about these things the other day, and we both agree that in the long run, those of us who can't afford it will just have to trust God. I am ok with that, he has me covered!

I'm with you, but I don't put my name and address anywhere on the web. The "freedom fighters" of the 70's are all gone, so I guess we will roll with the punches and let big business control what we eat,buy and cure ourselves with. Most people these days live in a little bubble.... ehem...person above me.

We aren't talking about quackery here, we are talking about medicine that has been around many hundreds of years longer than "conventional" medicine. I've personally never heard of milk thistle for cancer but I do know that it helps your liver and kidneys to do their job better. Cancer doesn't kill people, the various organs shutting down does. If we can use herbs in conjunction with chemo, we are giving the body a fighting chance. Does "proven" have to carry a sticker on it... do you need the Department of Sunlight to tell you that the sun rises and sets for you to believe it.

Sorry to bash Christians again, but that religion would say that God put everything we need here for us to live and be healthy. Did God put prednisone and radiation treatments here or did he put milk thistle and goji berries here...hmmm?
