I Have a guy friend who has a girlfriend and they are having problems. He says their on bad terms but are trying to work things out, but in the mean time he has been seeing someone else for a over a year. He can't answer the question why is he seeing this other person if he knows he has no intentions on leaving his girlfriend.

most guys like the fact that they r doing something that they know they shouldnt b doing. they feel that they have power by doing that. i just think that there is no point of cheatin wen u got someone who can give u sooo much more than anyone else.

Because when you first start a relationship everything is wonderful lust,passion,great sex,the butterflies in ur stomach when u see him/herthat all fades, then come the arguments,but at this point u have grown to love the other person,but u still desire that new relationship feeling and it is always exciting to have a secret forbidden relationship especially when ur partner doesnt know it puts a sense of excitement into it, u can also grow feelings for that new mate which makes it hard to leave him/her,plus in a way by keeping ur first mat e that gives you the since of security knowing that if things don't work out they'll always be there...this way you are not alone if one of them leave you.. it's in a mans nature i do not believe that they are meant to be faithfull they will always desire what they know they should not have..

People often cheat because the sex drive is Strong and people sometimes think that someone Else's sex techniques Will turn them on more that the one they are with. Also, if things were difficult, people cheat to feel good about themselves instead of working out the differences.

It seems he may want to have security in knowing that he will have someone already when he breaks it off with the girlfriend.
And, sometimes people - men and women are just not satisfied with just one person, they need variety. It's okay as long as you let the person that you are in relationship with know that this is the way that it is going to be.

I know this sounds rather crude, but he's doing it "because he can".
He's getting away with it and for whatever reason doesn't feel any moral convictions for doing it so he keeps on doing it and will keep on doing it until he gets caught. After which he'll just refine his methods and keep on doing it.
Let life kick his butt and leave him lonely for a couple of years. Then he'll appreciate relationships again. Otherwise....

well...he probably feels like he's not loved enough by his girlfriend and that he needs more...he also doesn't feel comfortable in his masculinity. if he was comfortable...then he wouldn't be cheating on his current girlfriend. i noe...i've had experience...my uncle has had MANY girlfriends...and he's cheated on every single one with the next girl that he brings 2 the family!!!!! every year its a new 1...and im not kidding. that's y they cheat...cuz they're not comfortable in their masculinity...and they feel like if they're not being thrown on by many women...than they are not loved

Some men need the attention of more than one woman. They want their cake and to eat it too. He needs to make a choice, it isn't fair to his girlfriend. If she doesn't know, someone should tell her.
