I bough an Ahli from petsmart and a Electric Blue from Exotic Aquarium. Does anybody know for sure if both these are the true Sciaenochromis ahli they sell. Or is it something like I keep hearing this thing like collector have these different type of Ahli that aren't the true one. I was wondering if anybody know for sure.

Impossible to say for sure without pictures and even then it could be tough. That said, odds are very good you have the same species.

The electric blue ahli is definitely an African cichlid, not a mixed breed. For breeding, they are mouth brooders. The eggs are fertilized and carried by the mother. After about 2 weeks (anywhere from 12 - 18 days) the fry are released from her mouth.
The other electric blue cichlid that you may be referring to as not a real ahli, is the Jack Dempsey electric blue new world cichlid. It has to be bred back to a regular JD and the fry will take on one of the parents' characteristics.
