If you work for a private firm, chances are you will not have a pension, and if you do it won't be a good one. If you work for the government in most cases you will have a pension, and it will be a good one.

If you work for a private company, chances are your company may get bought out, and you may get laid off. Governments do not get bought out, though the politicians often do, but not the government, you will keep your job, and only lose it if you do something terrible, like get drunk on the job and punch someone out, or make a pass at the bosses daughter or wife. Yes, working for the government is great, go for it.

I have been in the military for about 8 years now. Before I joined the Air Force, I worked at a Dodge Dealership. You can not beat the health benefits and travel. I LOVE THE AIR FORCE!!!
