There isn't so much exaggeration as there is over-reporting. People are constantly bombarded with media reports on it that they feel it's a large scale threat. However most of the science just gets repeated in the media, over and over.
So there's little exaggeration, just a lot of saturation. It seems overwhelming but most is repetitive.

People can, & do, exaggerate everything. Personally- I'd be alot more concerned about Global Warming -the threat, than the exaggeration (& maybe THAT'S why there are still so many sceptics out there). I'd rather be prepared for a threat, than overtaken by an exaggeration.

Personally, I think part of the reason is so that companies can make money. For instance, the sale of hybrid cars. I really don't think that will make all that much of a difference in the environment, but car companies can make more money off them. I do think that there is a certain level of threat with global warming, but we need to remember that in the past the earth has gone through periods of warming and cooling. I agree, I think global warming is somewhat exaggerated.

Remember Y2K?
The media is run by the LOONY LEFT they take anything that is the flavor of the month and report on it until it becomes bigger than itself.
Common sense and a little investigation would show that the earth (which is billions of years old) has been freezing & warming for.....yes you guessed it..... billions of years. Mostly due to solar flares from the sun....although we should stop dumping so much crap into the air, it can't be helping.
Oh and as a side bar...96% of all so called greenhouse gases is water vapor.

In the past two decades we are warmer than ever before. The snow packs are declining each winter, and Alaska and the Canadian North are warmer than ever before. Sea levels are rising as well. The hurricanes Katrina and Rita are part of global warming and whether you people want to admit it or not, global warming will be more and more of a problem as the century continues.
Exaggerated ?

After the fall of the Soviet Union, socialism fell out of favor with many activists. However, they were used to having a controversial cause to work for, and needed something to take its place. Global Warming is helping to fill that need.
