John S: 'Halloween' will STILL be perfect. This won't change that. Unfortunately, it won't change the Halloween 7 either..lol
This is considered 'Part 8' and like Mushroomhead Freak says "It's not a remake. It's a retelling.". Let me explain :-) The main storyline is new. It's the story of Michael Myers years at the Smith's Grove Sanitarium under the watchful eye of Dr. Sam Loomis. That was the basis. Now, in order for Rob to effectively tell this story, he must first go back and show his audience 'WHY?' Michael Myers is in the institution. So he must 'retell' the storyline of Michael killing his first sister. Then while Michael is at Smith's Grove, Dr. Loomis diagnoses him as someone who is 'waiting'. 'Waiting' for something that will come. Alas, Michael escapes. Rob can't end the story there because now the audience will want to know what Michael was 'waiting' on all those years and if Dr. Loomis was right. So Rob must 'retell' a little more of the story to show his audience that Michael was 'waiting' to kill his OTHER sister, Laurie Strode. But he had to wait for her to become a teenager (but that's another story). So, there is some retelling but it's not a remake of the first movie by any means. Hopefully, it will go into more detail from the original movie book and explain how Michael Myer's grandpa also heard 'the voices' that told him to kill and how it skipped every other generation. But, anyway I could go on and on...lol Want me to tell you how Halloween 3:Season Of The Witch DOES INDEED fit in with the other Halloweens? LOL!

This is the worst idea I've ever heard of. Rob's a terrible filmmaker. House of 1,000 corpses was a terrible remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Devil's Rejects was just plain stupid and predictable. Why is everyone makin it seem like he's some big genius?! Not to mention the fact that he always casts his dumb, non-acting annoying wife in each of his piece of crap films. I mean what's next? A remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th?! Terrible idea!!

IM GONNA SAY THUMBS UP AND NOT BECAUSE IM A ROB ZOMBIE FAN BUT THE FACT THAT HE IS TAKING A DIFFERENT APPROACH ON THE STORY. IT IS NOT A REMAKE OF THE PAST FILMS BUT SET AT AN EARLIER TIME IN MIKE MEYERS LIFE AS TO WHAT MADE HIM THE PSHYCHO HE BECAME. I'M BETTING IT WILL DO WELL IN THE THEATRES SINCE HORROR MOVIES HAVE EVOLVED SO MUCH.

Thumbs down. They should remake bad movies not classics. He'll take a scary movie and turn it into a blood bath. And if he puts that annoying blonde from devils rejects in it then it will really suck.
