There was an article in the New York Times just a day or two ago about how difficult it is to get into the top American Universities. According tot he article, Harvard had over 22,000 applications from the top students in America and turned down over 20,000 of them, including many who were ranked 1st in their class at excellent high schools, hundreds who had perfect SAT scores, etc.

They only accept a handful of international students each year, perhaps 20 or so. So you will have to be one of the best students on your continent with perfect grades, the most outstanding possible achievements and recommendations from your entire high school faculty.

But you should consider that there are over 4000 colleges in the USA and nearly all of them will accept almost any international student with good marks who can pay the tuition and fees. You can definitely come to school in the USA, but you cant count on being admitted to Harvard.

I don't mean to sound condescending here, but it seems to me that anyone with the qualifications to be accepted at HAHVAHD would know that the best and most accurate answer to this question would be found at Harvard and not on Yahoo! Answers.
Seriously, contact Harvard. They are the only ones that will have the correct up-to-date information. Start with these websites:
