first album, illmatic: 5 stars source mag, platinum, he has like 12 albums, 9 are platinum, he has good flow that is different and just smashed on Jay w/ his song Ether

Common. He is one of the few rapper with lyrical abilites and just doesnt rely on good beats. He raps about real issues, not just things rap is sterotyped for, (bling, cars hos.)

i like him most of all because he isn't one to rap about slappin hoes and selling drugs... he talks about pressing matters in politics and religion along with just fun random topics....
