And Don't you find this upsetting that they, especially college professors, try to indoctrinate students to there socialist philosophies? Especially when it comes to young impressionable minds, schools should be free of indoctrination. Indoctrination is not education, it's brainwashing!

I'd like to know that myself and, yes, I do find it bothersome. My brother who majored in Political Science had to go to the chair for every A he deserved because since he disagreed with the liberal professors, he often got marked a lot worse than he deserved. The chair usually gave him the A and chastised more than one professor in my brother's presence for grading him based on their opinions rather on the writing and research. Pathetic, really, that they are so closed minded. I'm one teacher who is not a liberal but does try to teach differing points of view. Oh, and I have advance education degrees and I'm still conservative.

Most professors are living in a fantasy world that includes tenure for life. Quite a few are little more than spoiled brats enjoying their privileged status in their insulated world. Most would be eaten alive in the private sector. Shoveling their B.S. does not fly to well in the "real world" without their treasured tenure. Easy to be a Liberal/Socialist loser within the confines of a campus. Especially true when you are faced with students who often are deers in the headlights and vastly unprepared to intelligently debate topics of national relevance and interest. A good student will embarrass the Liberal profs, but fear the retaliation that may result in a poor grade. Sad state of affairs, eh?

Young or old, one cannot be brainwashed if they are educated, knowledgeable, and strong willed. It is sad that so many college (and high school) students think they know so much, yet they do not know enough to know how little they understand the ways of the world. This especially applies to the insulated world of the school campuses across the country.

People try to teach what they think is right, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't believe in socialism but I am a liberal, I'm a liberal because I think what liberals are trying to do is right. Things like caring for the environment well and preventing the worst of global warming, good cheap education, caring for the poor and the sick, living in peace with the other nations of the world, working to achieve lasting world peace between all nations, having a liberal tolerance of others beliefs and lifestyles, I think it's right, that's why I am one and I wouldn't mind my children being taught those values one bit. Everyone needs to be taught something, so it had better be as right as you can figure, and if that's what teachers try to teach then that's as good as it can be. I think there's a reason so many well educated people are liberals, again, just my opinion, but this is America and I'm entitled to it.

It's because they are all intelligent, objective and open minded, and no it's not brainwashing. Fox news is brainwashing, and kids SAT scores would be a lot higher if their parents were able to reinforce their education by spending time helping kids with their homework instead of having to do 2 or 3 jobs in order to provide a decent standard of living for their families.

The education system can only do so much.

By the way if you actually knew anything about Socialist Philosophy apart from the propoganda that you have learnt through your Capitalist masters you would realise that you have no reason to be upset.

Oh - and there are no fundie/supply side professors? Get a grip on reality, and your head out of that PC mythology. Higher education cannot be controlled by either side or the market of ideas ----- idea breaks down. Might as well return us to the dark ages when the only teaching was done by the fundies. The Scopes trial wasn't that long ago bub.

Liberals tend to those sorts of professions. If you think it is such a problem, maybe you should go into teaching.

Regardless, it is the responsibility of the parent to teach the kids the philosophies they want the kids to adhere to. If the kid does not learn them, don't blame it on somebody else. Take responsibility.

Your question is completely ridiculous and without merit. If you hold yourself as someone who was indoctrinated by "the liberals" than they obviously did not succeed. If George Bush is the paragon of conservative thinking, is it any wonder why the vast majority of educated people identify themselves as a "liberal" or in other words "free thinking".

Answer: They began hijacking the education system in the 60's and now it is about 95 percent run by libs.

I am looking at shakespears answer. It's hilarious, liberals certainly are not open minded, enlightened, or intelligent, they are the most one-minded people in the US. You can't tell a fookin lib ANYTHING. Science and facts only bore them.

Older. The extra moderen ones with their new suggestions issue me. i like previous instructors - they recognize approximately all my generic television exhibits and my generic bands because of the fact they have been around while they have been little. they even tend to be harder on you, and much less loopy with regards to the full college spirit ****. And youthful instructors constantly attempt to comprehend you and be your ideal pal or something. Like hell i could have faith a instructor that lots. If i desire to check i could desire an older instructor.

while many may be liberal...

the only evidence you provide of any indoctrination is of one possible class at Berkley?

I could cite classes at many Christian Universtities that would be just as bias and full of indoctrination?

but, it seems the majority don't "indoctrinate" if you've ever been there....

unless you're one of those "if you're not giving my opinion, you're indoctrinating" type of people...

you're evidence is very weak to support your apparent idea that all colleges are just "liberal brainwashing institutions"...

Sad, but true. It has gotten so bad that it is in the high schools now. We went to a conference for one of our children and the teacher admitted that our son got a lower grade on his essay paper because he did not agree with her tree hugging ideas about the environment.
