Wireless networking is an art. Move the antenna on the router and on your computer. Pointing straight up is usually best. Move the router a few feet to ensure there aren't thingies that block the signal, like vents in the wall, fish tanks or other big blocks of water or metal. Mirrors and picture windows can bounce the signal. Try covering them and see if it works better. (Really).
If it's just Too Far, like from upstairs to the basement, you may have to invest in a range extender. D-link makes a decent extender and it's not too hard to set up.

Click start >click run >type in msconfig click on the startup tab then uncheck everything there except your anti virus and internet connection . Click ok and your computer will restart .
Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

If your signal is low, that sounds like the problem. Call your internet service provider. They can help.

to be honest, explorer 7 is faster. Firefox is downloaded on your hard drive, and it take a few seconds to get it started.
I use vista, with E7, and google is my home page, and its there fast. Nothing is faster I have tried.
