I think "soul mate" is an over used expression. I'm married to a wonderful man who I consider to be my "soul mate." On the other hand, I have met people, male and female in my life who have had a great impact on me. Sometimes when I meet someone else for the first time and hit it off really well to the point where we both seem to know where the other is coming from, I feel as if they are soul mates too.

Soul mate doesn't have to be romantic attachments. I think someone can have several soul mates. People who you confide in and trust. People who you seem to have an unseen "connection" with. People who have guided you down the right path.

Lots of "soul mates" are out there. Picture yourself as part of a spider web. You are at the center of a point where several other strands branch off. ALL of those branches are soul mates. We are all connected.

How should I know? I can't predict the future. And where the heck does religion come in? If your religious, how do you plain on finding your 'soul mate'? Your not exactly puttin' yourself out there, ya know. religion, is religion. And when you think about it, to an Atheist there ain't no such thing as a 'soul mate'.

Either way I wish you the best of luck

You will find your soul mate when the time arrives when you will find your soul mate. The only way you will have control over this will be to let it go and trust the process . Really beyond what we look like will have a soul. Our souls vibrate energy that is able to attract what is hidden in the deepest parts of us to light. Your soul and that of your soul mate's is beyond the confounds of religion. Be that which you seek so that you will find each other.

Dear Sawyer, it can happen at any time, usually when you least expect it. When I met my husband I KNEW he was the one. Never in my life had I been so drawn to someone. I told my friend that night, I was going to marry him. She told me I was drunk and to go to bed. lol. 40 days later we were married. This year will be our 11th anniversary. We are still very happy and in love. Never once did I doubt our love, I just knew. My husband knew too, and so will you. For the religion part , he is agnostic and I am Christian (not a great Christian, but I do believe). This has never come between us because we respect the others beliefs. Love makes everything possible. :)

I also agree with caneartist, we connect with many people because they seem familiar to us. Those we feel closest to are soul mates as well.

No clue when you'll find a soul mate.

Though, a soul mate can be any religion or no religion at all.

That's up to you, get yourself out there, as far as religion goes I don't see way that matters, just because someone has different views than you doesn't mean that you can't have a relationship. Its all up to the individual what happens in their lives.
