I really did not like Woodrow Wilson for that damned "Open-door policy," that keeps getting us into more and more ****.

I think it is Jimmy Carter. He was brought to power pretending to be this good ol boy peanut farmer. In fact Carter is a well educated socialist leaning liberal who brought this country to it's knees. He stripped funding for the military until we couldnt even fly a few helicopters into Iran to rescue the hostages he let Iran hold, making a fool of our great country. We had to buy gasoline on odd and even days depending on whether you had an odd or even license plate number. Interest rates were so high almost no one could afford to buy a home. They were around 20% at their worse.
Historically, I think Clinton will be 2nd due to his disgraceful actions which overshadowed any good he did. Although it will be a tight race between him and Richard Nixon, who also ruined all the good he did by his own actions.
Right now , with the liberals and CNN both attacking Bush, you may think it is him. I don't think history will show it that way. We were attacked over and over again with little or no response for more than 20 years. George Bush got the ok from Congress and took action. War is never pretty, but is sometimes necessary. We have very low interest rates allowing more people to buy homes than ever before. He has lowered our taxes, given us child tax credits, a reduction in the marriage penalty and more. He nominated exactly the kind of Justices to the Supreme Court he said he would and we are at more than 94% employment. The liberals along with help from CNN,ABC,CBS and the rest of the media they run will never tell you the good things, due to their hatred of the President.

Lots of presidents have been vehemently hated. Andrew Jackson had horrible detractors. He took on the financial establishment, and you can imagine how they responded.

The Civil War was probably the era that engendered the most hatred, so both Lincoln and his successor Andrew Johnson paid the price in lost popularity. And Ulysses S. Grant probably had his share of detractors too.

The next period of hatred came around the time of the Great Depression, so about half the country hated Herbert Hoover, while the other half despised Franklin Roosevelt.

And, of course, we can't overlook Nixon, who proved himself to be the greatest embarrassment to our nation ever.

I think the others named, such as JFK, Carter, and George W. Bush, while strongly disliked, probably didn't rise to the level of the others I mentioned. Still, there's no doubt that George and the Bush League have pulled some momentous blunders. I'll be glad when they're gone, but don't delude yourself into thinking that he's either the most hated OR the worst president ever. As much damage as he's done, there have been worse.

George Bush "is" the most hated president. Only because he is the current president and a lot of people don't dwell on the past. Once he's gone, maybe after 4 or 5 years (in his case), the next pres will take that title...

Also, Nixon, Clinton, and Jackson.. Seem to be hated often.. And Jimmy Carter is making his way up the list, for some reason.. hmm..

short term memory. Nixon.
reason Bush is hated because it started with the 2000 election. the left never accepted Bush as president, because
Gore should have won. palm beach dummies who voted for Buchanan. plus Nader 86k votes.
Kerry was a weak flip flopper

I don't think we've ever had a President that we hated. They aren't in Office long enough for us to feel THAT strongly against them. Even Bush may go down in history as a disappointment, but he'll be forgotten- before he's hated. And maybe that's a better "fate" for him. :)

In his own time?...Lincoln.

The stuff that's said about George 4.3 is pale imitation compared to what Lincoln's detractors both north and south of the Mason-Dixon line said of him.

Hillary Clinton, 1993-2001.

She can be again, you know. Behind Hillary, history would tell you the Johsons probably follow closely behind. Andrew was impeached like Clinton, and there was no love for Lyndon when he stepped down. These three easily trump Nixon who looks like a saint compared to these three.

Sadly, Truman also qualifies because he had lower approval ratings than Bush (16-20%).

All time hated was probably Lincoln....followed by Hoover....
Modern days....Carter, Clinton, Bush W....Carter was a total failure, Clinton was proven dishonest, and Bush pounded by the media without defending himself...plus has liberal leanings on immigration and spending..
