I think that all young men come to a point in their adolescence when they question thier sexuality -- when that pat on the butt on the baseball field suddenly takes on a new meaning or when "looking" in the gym shower makes you question your sexuality. You know, that time in a boy's life when he says "OMG I must be gay!" There is a certain fear among boys that doesnt seem to transfer over to girls when intimacy among members of the same sex "feels funny". No, I dont think they are homosexual - nor do I think they have homosexual tendancies. I just think that they are going through that phase -- and also perhaps you the reader are -- when two boys who are close friends are whispered about and their sexuality is questioned. In the long run, this phase in a boy's life turns out to be perfectly normal. Freud called it the Latency Phase. Pax - C.

if the word "tendencies" is qouted and homosexual endencies to be exact... every human boy or girl could tend to be... depending on the exposure of a certain subject. some men can be attracted to the same man because (1) they are subjected to drugs or under the influence of liquor. (2), just for curriousity sake. teen agers were very adventurous. (3). as a need of something. these are the factors that could affect the level of tendencies, although they dont wanted to be as what they had. But in reality, and into the world of life. Tendencies occurs in every individuals, sometimes they occure in long span, some occur in just a few instances, but what mattered is on how you handle the situation as with respect to the given situation. Gene and Finny could have expressed something weired but it could vannish depending on how they treat each other.

Definitely, but that doesn't mean either one or both of them are 'gay'. What it means is that they are typical teens who are unclear of their sexuality and also that they live in a female absent society, pretty much, therefore it is tough to express any sort of sexuality at all without it coming out looking homosexual. They almost have no choice.
By the way, if you are reading the typical 'textbook' version of this story, it has been seriously edited. All the fun and weird and wild parts have been cut out, trying to keep your mind pure. Pick up the full text and read that, it's a lot more fun and wild.

I examine the e book and that i assumed so... and then I observed the negative movie and then I KNEW. I observed the movie and the in simple terms remark I had to make replaced into "that replaced into so gay." and seeing that I finally end up if human beings use the be conscious "gay" to intend stupid, seeing that i'm bi and it really is in simple terms undeniable offensive... I mean that it replaced into so chock finished of homosexuality it replaced into no longer a threat now to not be conscious. ...yet notwithstanding, that made issues in simple terms so a lot more advantageous positive for me. I mean, hell, even as Gene starts donning Finny's clothing?? What?? ...warm tale, I loved it. xD

A SEPARATE PEACE is appears on most glbt reading lists for its homoerotic undertones, but Knowles never spoke specifically to the issue. However, Gore Vidal claims that Knowles told him that one of the characters was based on Vidal, who was two years ahead of him at Exeter.

No. It was a different era. Boys interacted with each other differently. Now finish your assignment by yourself.
