3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO
EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO HE
SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5
EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF
$27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

The men paid $30. The room was $25. The bellboy kept $2(27), and gave the men $3(30).

The dollar went nowhere because the reference shouldn't be $30. The 3 men paid $9 each (i.e., $27) for a $25-room and the bellboy kept the extra $2. No mystery there!

This is why accounting is so important to avoid the confusions like this one. You cannot simply add up the money like that, it is against the logic. The men STILL over-paid for the room by $2 ($27 paid - $25 cost). This is exactly the $2 that the bellboy kept for his "services". If the men were a company and would try to match their payments with the vendor's receipts during an audit, they will have to report the $2 loss on their statements (the $2 that the boy kept for himself).

the hotel is charging $25 for the room the men should get $5 back but the bell boy keeps $2 so now the men rare paying $27 for the room and then u add the $3 they got back = $30

The room cost $25 dollars. The men spent a total of $27 and $25 went to pay for the room and $2 went to the bellboy.

You added improperly.
