All I need when there is a big crowd on the dance floor is really less than a square meter. If the crowd is shoulder-to-shoulder, it gives you the opportunity to do some close-embrace dancing with your partner. I am not dancing for the crowd, I am dancing for me and my dance partner.
When I am on the dance floor in a big crowd, the only real important thing is dancing with my partner. The expression with Argentine tango is: "Four legs, two heads, one heart." The dance is lead and follow, with two people moving as one.

I do a lot of demos (with my dance club) and it just doesn't bother me. I like to show the audience how much fun dancing really is. We always try to but the beginners in the front row; this allows the audience to see how easy dancing is. Once the audience sees how easy the dancing is, how happy we are - they put their name on a list and then begin classes shortly thereafter. The demos is how we recruit new dancers.

I can not dance like people with talent. I can move to music and let it show how I feel about the music but I can not dance.
I still feel good about myself when I dance because I am having fun and do not care what other people think about me.
I feel good because I am having fun and enjoying the music!

I feel like it's exactly where I'm supposed to be. They come to see what I can do, and I'm there to show them. It's the best feeling in the world. ♥ Plus you're there with your peers. Even better.

OH! i love it. its a favorite sensation of mine. im free and love to dance in front of people, i feel weightless and so comfortable, like i was born to do this thing and this thing only.
i like what Mark said, i dance for myself, and i take my dancing very seriously.

not as uncomfortable with no crowd, at least you can blend in with other people, but dancing for me is generally pretty nerve racking.
