both run on a 2.4ghz and I frequently lose my dsl connection. How can you stop this from happening?

have both equipment at least 2 feet away from each other then access router interface & change wireless channel.

Change the channel on one or the other. Most routers have this on the config page, your phone may be tougher to find (many scan for the best channel) If you can set both, put one at channel 11 and one on channel 1. Also make sure you have a dsl filter on every phone line.

Take the cordless phone to your local recycling center and buy a new DECT 6.0 compliant cordless phone.

DECT 6.0 uses 1.9GHz which has been set aside for cordless phones.

the best way is to keep them away from each other and ensuring that you have a filter between the phone and phone line.

You can't. They both occupy the same RF spectrum and will constantly interfere with each other.
