In 1985, Kareem was still playing at a high level at the age of 38 (he had 30 point and 17 rebounds in Game 2 of the finals vs. Boston). Magic was coming into his peak period, and Worthy was peaking as well.
With 3 top-50 players playing at an extremely high level, it would be tough for any team today to beat them. The only team you mentioned with a top 50 all time player is the Spurs with Tim Duncan (yeah, he wasn't an orignal top 50 player, but if they re-picked the top 50 today, he would be there).
No one who didn't see the 85 Lakers has any idea how unstoppable guys like Kareem and Magic were in those days.
None of the teams you mentioned would be able to beat them in a 7 game series.
That's not to say that all teams from the 80s were better than all teams today... but the Lakers were the team of the decade, and there's no way any of those teams could match up with them.

The 1985 Lakers would run over all the teams in the NBA right now. So would those Celtics. With ease. No question.
That Laker team had 3 top 50 players on it. (Worthy, Johnson, Jabbar). An 8-time 1st team All-NBA defensive player (Cooper). One of the greatest scorers of all time (McAdoo).. albeit in decline... but he could still fill it up. I haven't even mentioned Byron Scott or Wilkes or Rambis. This team was stacked. Its no wonder they won 5 Championships. No team today comes close.
The NBA is different nowadays. There are 6 more teams in the league now than there were then. What people dont realize is how much that makes an enormous difference in the level of talent of the top teams. Imagine if we took the talent from Orlando, Toronto, Miami, Charlotte, New Orleans, and Memphis (the 6 newest teams)....and spread it out among the top teams. You could see Bosh in LA with Chris Paul and Kobe....Sick huh. Those 80's teams were awesome. We may never have teams of that calibur again...

The 1985 Lakers would run any team today off the court. So would the 1985 Celtics.
You're talking about a team that features 3-4 Hall of Famers, one of the greatest centers in history, one of the greatest point guards in history, and one of the greatest defensive players ever ( Cooper ).
Thanks to expansion, teams today are not as good or deep as teams in the 1980's. Today, all you need is one superstar on your team. Back then, one superstar wouldn't have even gotten you into the playoffs.
If the 85 Lakers played today, they'd probably win 70+ games every year, and win title after title without much of a threat from anyone.

The '85 Lakers would surely go, to quote the great Moses Malone, "Fo, fo, fo"! Yeah, that would be no contest and they're gonna blaze through the playoffs and win the championship easily. See, no one would be able to match up against Kareem at that time, even at age 38. When the Lakers were infamously "massacred" by the Celtics in the first game, Cap promptly took the blame and apologized to his teammates. The next game, he was unbelievably dominant and put up huge numbers (30-plus points, over ten rebounds, some assists, blocks and steals) in leading his team to victory, and the rest was history. And who could match Big Game James' all around brilliance? The league's got plenty of talented forwards today, but no one's Worthy to carry No. 42's jocks. James Worthy was a walking triple-double every night. Of course, there's no competition at point guard. Magic Johnson was at his absolute best in '85. Then there's the rest of L.A.'s showtime line-up - Scott, Cooper, Thompson, Rambis, and A.C. - and of course their great coach Pat Riley. How could this team lose?

Oklahoma City Thunder should be higher up in the standings. Unless the New York Knicks get Chris Paul, I don't think they'll make the Playoffs this year, let alone be the #6 seed. The Washington Wizards should be one of the seeds to make the Playoffs this year because they got John Wall and will get Gilbert Arenas back. In the Eastern Conference Finals I think the Heat will win not the Magic.
