1st. Find two numbers that are easy to do and our number
is between the 2.
Example : 169 is between 100 and 400
So â169 is between 10 and 20
2nd. Find number(s) between 10 and 20 that the
least significant digit or smallest digit has square = 9.
10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 , 16 , 17, 18, 19,
13 and 17 are in that category:
Finally square the 2 and one is UR answer.
13x13 = 169..................17x 17 = 289. 13 is the answer.
You can do it in your mind no writing required.
Try 225 and 625

its an outstanding math reference for when your substandard middle school educators who are too busy with their own families and the even more sub standard textbooks can't help you out

Since you already Yahoo, there is an online calculator you can add to your My Yahoo web page. Look through the add content to add it to the left column of your page.
It has both simple and scientific modes.
Click on "add content" link
In the "find content" box, type CALCULATOR and press enter.
The first hit should be the yahoo calculator.
Click the "add" button.
If you can't find it, send me your e-mail address. There is an "e-mail module" option.
