I would consider cut of the gown before the color. Something sleek but not too trampy. Greek toga styles are in this year and they have various interpretations of the Greek look. Look for the fabric to drape well. If it is not fluid it won't look elegant.
As for a color try a dark gold. Combined with the Greek styled dress you would be a true goddess!. Give it a shot! It is not outrageous but not something everyone else will wear. You would stand out with absolute class.

Definately not black. I garantee you almost every girl there will have a black or dark colored dress. Why don't you try a midnight blue color dress, with silver wedge heels?? I think that would be gorgeous, and more unique then the others. You wana stand out at prom!!

Abslutley! I regal white dress, some silver accessories, would be super sheek and elegant with a black tux. Id keep it formal, and wear floor length. If you go knee high, that is not as elegant for Paris. Good luck!

I was about to say black because it is simple, yet elegant. But I wouldn't think it would be fit for May.
Let's see, I would go for a cream colored dress with no pattern but is fit to your body. I also would put your hair in a fancy bun and wear some real or fake pearls.
Hope this helps! <3

when I think elegance i think somewhat fancy but not red carpet. Nice and classy. I think some good colors would be purple a dark blue, cream, red, something not too simple but not over the top. HAVE FUN!!!

Dark purple is marvelous color but since its not an eyecatching one if you want to really turn the glam up do not focus on the color of the gown but the cut and the fit.. use gold accessories for a fashionista flair!

I would definately go with a darker color like you have picked. Like black, dark purple, even a deep red color would work also.
Have fun at prom!! =]

Well, considering the fact that Purple is the new in color for this summer season, go with a dark purple. Any shades of purple looks great for on any woman of any age, height, weight, and size.
go for it girl!!
