Deposition- Means the act or process of depositing.
Usually sediments are suspended in the water because of current and the load carrying capacity of the stream. When this stream slows down and currents slow, therefore; the sediments fall slowly to the bottom and are deposited there.
Many streams meander and this turning action is a very good place to look at the deposited materials

There are several possible answers. Deposit or alluvial deposit comes to mind first. Flocculation is where smaller particles clump together and deposit, accumulation would be another term for the deposit of alluvium. Sediment gradient is how larger particles are deposited upstream of smaller particles.
