If you're talking about the short time he played for the Mets, Reyes is better than Henderson.
If you're talking about his career- Ricky Henderson was the best leadoff hitter of all time.

Look. Jose Reyes is a fine player in his own right, but he will never compare to the player Rickey Henderson was in his prime. Rickey Henderson in his day was FEARED as a leadoff hitter. He stole over 1100 bases which is something Reyes will never touch.
I remember back in the day with the A's when you let Rickey take first base (hit or walk), he will usually take second base if it is open.

seem. Jose Reyes is an excellent participant in his own correct, yet he will under no circumstances study to the participant Rickey Henderson replaced into in his best. Rickey Henderson in his day replaced into FEARED as a leadoff hitter. He stole over 1100 bases that's something Reyes will under no circumstances contact. I keep in innovations back contained in the day with the A's once you enable Rickey take first base (hit or walk), he will oftentimes take second base no matter if that's open.

Jose is on his way to being a superstar but Rickey was the complete leadoff hitter. Reyes doesn't have the eye for the strike zone Rickey had. He would draw well over 100 walks a year as well as making a pitcher work by fouling off pitches until he got his pitch and dragging out pitch counts.

It's too early in his potentially great career to say how legendary Jose Reyes will be. I would love to see him surpass Ricky's numbers.
So far, the best lead off hitter is Henderson, but I hope Jose catches up. Reyes is so fun to watch and really adds more to the team than just stats.

Rickey Henderson is the best leadoff hitter in history..but not as a Met..He wasn't with them long enough. I would give the nod to Jose between these two guys.

Judging on their time with the Mets, I'd say Reyes - for a career Henderson is better, but he only played for the Mets for a bit over a year when he was past his prime (though it was a very good year for him).

Definitely Henderson. Reyes is still young. In a couple of years he will become like Henderson or even better.
