Goldfish are fairly nutritious and a good food source but as pointed out they are a good way to introduce problems to the tank unless you quarantine them first. Piranha can be taught to accept fish fillets quite easily as they are really scavengers in the wild anyway. Often the local grocery will work a deal with you to sell you fish fillets that are a day out of sale by date for pennies on the dollar once you explain to the manager why you want them. Just buy up a stack and freeze them individually until you need them.

Yes, worms are also a good addition to the fish's diet.

Gold fish are good feeding fish, but they have sickness in them a lot of times. Worms are nutritious.
So are most fish. I feed my piranha guppies that I breed. You could make a fish farm to feed your piranha, but what i have seen people do is buy 100 fedder goldfish and feed about 1 a day and let the rest grow in a good farm tank. THis will give you food for 100 days and its only $10. YOu must also buy another sorce of food for the piranhas, fish are not enough!

Oh, they are plenty "nutritious", they just also happen to be a disease-riddled, filthy, parasite-having food source for your fish because NOBODY at ANY pet shop in the world cleans the feeder tanks... ever... it's a great way to introduce parasites and other nasty-ness into your tanks. The best thing to do for live food, is to keep your own 29 gallon tank with a breeding pair of convicts, and keep it clean. You will have an endless supply of live food because convicts do one thing, and that is make babies... every other week.

You need to feed it different kinds of food, goldfish one day, worms another day, some kind of chopped meat another day, and so on. feeding any fish just one kind of food is never good.
