Do you actually believe any of the crap that spews out of that group, or do you realize how biased they are and just happy they are on your team?

I don't watch any television "news" if I can help it. Fox is conservative, the rest of the channels are just entertainment channels, not news channels. Don't see any of the tv stations as liberal, so people who are talking about the "liberal media" must be talking about media outlets that actually discuss more than one point of view. Whew, that's liberal all right! I read the paper, read AP and UPI articles, look at the BBC news, those are the places that actually present news instead of sound bites. I can't watch any of the "news" shows anymore, since they are conservative to moderate at best. Rarely are liberal points of view allowed on "news" programs.

The majority of the media is owned by big business. Big business is into selling entertainment, to make big bucks. They could care less about bias, fairness, honesty, truth, or ethics. If it sells, they show it, print it, air it. They don't care about showing multiple points of view, or questioning the status quo, or ethics: money is their god.

I'm surprised you single out Fox.
News is not about reality.
News is about the odd, the strange, the exceptions.

That's why it covers dishonest police officers, corrupt police officers, and bad news in Iraq.

NOT the 'much higher than the public percentage' of police officers, the normally honest and helpful politicians, or the constant good things that happen in Iraq.

Not the dishonest fast food worker, the corrupt union official, the bad things that happen in Africa.

Those are normal. And too many U.S. citizens (let alone any other nation's peoples) just accept the worst and most sensational as normal.

Bias is part of the game. One of these days I'd like to see someone actually track how many liberal vs. democrat views are presented, how many democrat vs. conservative views are presented over a period of two weeks for several of the networks (without warning). I've done something similar (I get summers off, but the time period is hardly scientific), and found that there really is a liberal/democrat bias in a lot of the networks.

It surprised me. I'm a democrat. I also try to be honest with myself and value free speech.

So when Fox News came out, I said, "So? They have free speech, too".

You seem to have forgotten that. It's unfortunate that the Right has taken a stronger stand on free speech than we have. I intend that that won't last long, but I'm only one man. Time the Left started supporting it's core values now that those values have become such common values (free speech, free expression, equal rights), etc.

Let's start by letting them have their free speech, too.

They're Americans. When we treat them like the enemy, WE become the enemy. I won't join that team.

I appreciate the fact that there are at least two points of view on every issue. Fox News expresses a side that is sometimes a different perspective than the other television news sources. They are not making up news just reporting a view that does exist. Fox News does not report falsehoods 24/7 just as CNN or MSNBC do not report lies all of the time. You need to be smart enough to discern that both points of view that are reported in the media are being spun by both supporters and dissenters of said issue/news story.

1. Read "Bias" by Bernard Goldberg, if you dare to face the truth.

2. When what we have been watching is left of center, left of center becomes the norm. Then when a group comes along and moves to the center, it is seen by others not as a movement toward the center, but as a shift to the right.

3. I sure don't view Alan Colmes as a centrist.

4. Quite often, mainstream media will allow a person from the left to hawk their books. But when a person from the right tries to, they don't let them on saying "nobody from the other side will come on and since we can't give equal time, we can't have you on."

5. Even though what I have typed is true, many from the left will now give me a thumbs down. So be it. I know the truth.

I watch somewhat of all of them, yet for the main section confident I do, seeing how Fox is the only one which shows you the two factors,in spite of what Liberals will inform you.relies upon what time it fairly is as quickly as I turn on the television, fairly. If i prefer to seize some modern information and that's 9:00 PM, I valuable do no longer change on Greta. She's good for Amber indicators and Natalie Holloway and that's approximately it.

All of the news channels cater to a group to increase ratings. They have sponsors that rely on these audiences. They elaborate on facts to make the story more appealing to their audience. They have mostly just become actors like on World Wrestling Federation. That is exactly what it reminds me of.

If we believe everything we are told on any of these programs, then we are all fools. Actually, I laugh at all of them. Right is right and wrong is wrong. No spin can really change that. Unfortunately, people only hear what they want to hear.

The other networks are so far biases to the left that Fox which is actually relatively neutral seems right wing. What worries me is that some people are not happy for our team

Are you talking about just the news portion?
Because I find their headlines and breaking news are reported the same way that CNN and the others report it. The other stuff, like O'Reilley, Hannity and Combs, and the rest of it is just entertainment. Just like "The View" and Rosies Rants is opinionated babble. ABC has their opinion and Fox is allowed to express theirs also. If you don't like it, change the channel.
Pretty simple.

Some (most) of the programs are unabashedly right wing. News is news, unless the newscasters say things like " That boob Bush is trying to drum up support today" or "That shrew Clinton is back on the warpath". Geraldo just flys whichever way the wind blows.
