If you told Recycle bin to restore the file to its original location, which is what it does, you can click Start, Search [right hand side], and when Search comes up, type in the name of the file in the typing field that comes up when you click All folder and files on the right. AutoRecovery, if that is its name, will show up and the search box will state where it is, such as "C:\Documents and Settings, etc, etc,"
Or you can just open Word as before and open this AutoRecovery or the file that was in AutoRecovery ....

If you restored the files, then they are definitely in the folder you originally had them saved in, but there's a good possibility they are under a different name, as mentioned in a previous answer.
If you did empty them from the recycle bin ( though I don't think you did ) you can still un-delete them if you have two hard drives.
I bought a program from a computer retailer for about $40 that will search and restore deleted files from a hard drive, but you must have at least two drives because you are not supposed to install the program on the drive you are un-deleting files from.

Do you know how to run a search for a file or folder?
cl Start
cl Search
cl File or Folder
enter a unique word or phrase then click Search.
It may turn up someplace. If it does, click View,Details. See where it is stored, or, click it to highlight, copy, and paste to your desktop for now. Right-click it to rename and save it to a new name. You can move it later.
or
right-click on the Recycle Bin
click "unerase wizard"
To save yourself future headaches, when in Word, click Tools, Options - click the Save tab.
select to "always make a backup copy"
When you "refresh" a folder, backups will go to the top of list and are easily deleted - but they can come in handy at times like these.

ok, that's a humorous prank. you're taking a trashcan and fill it approximately 3/4 way with water. You lean this up against your place's door. Knock on the door, run, and conceal so which you will discover it from a distance. whilst the unsuspecting individual opens the door the water will fall into their domicile flooding it. that's an extremely humorous prank. yet don't get caught. yet another one is to get a distant that works on the biggest t.v. and mute it, come approximately the quantity, substitute the channel, and turn off the flexibility do it whilst they're looking at their well-known tutor. ok- this is one for revenge. it would be terrific to try this someplace the place the guy you're pranking can not get yet another pair of garments-like tenting as an occasion. What you do is get a container of Bleach and placed a team of hair in it and leave it there over nighttime. next morning, drain it and chop the hair actual effective... and it will become itching powder!!! placed it throughout the different individual's outfits

if you actually clicked "restore", then the restored file will be in the same directory as the original file, BUT, it will have a different name.
check the date/time stamps to determine which file it was,
if you accidently clicked "delete" or "empty" the recycle bin, then i am sorry to say, its more than likely gone forever.

I would say go to the search/find program in the start menu. Type in the name of the file and atleast see what you get.
