Gibraltar is a native word for the great rock at one side of the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. The waters there flow through the so-called Straits of Gibraltar at that point. The British maintain a Fort there, and there are famous monkeys.

Gibraltar is in Spain, if you look at the map you´ll see in the southern coast of spain "a neck". Portugal "is the face" . That "neck" next to Morocco "the body", thus the neck is Gibraltar Between The Mediterranean Sea and The Atlantic Ocean.

As the others have stated, it's near the southern tip of Spain. The town of Algeciras is slightly farther south.
Gibraltar is still a British colony, and was seized from Spain in 1704. Spain has repeatedly demanded it back, but the population has overwhelmingly voted several times to remain British.
In 710 it was captured by the Arab Muslims under Tariq, and named Jebel al-Tariq (Mountain of Tariq), whence the name Gibraltar comes.

It is where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet between the coast of Spain and north Africa. (This narrow bit of water is called the Straights of Gibraltar.) Gibraltar is the rocky highland where the tip of Spain's "nose" is brushing against Africa.
