That's rather feminine to bring pictures into a hair place. Stop being so fussy and acting like a woman.
Although I appreciate a nice haircut, there is no way that I'm going to take pictures in there.
To be honest, it's even borderline okay for a woman to be this concerned about vanity and hairstyles. Many women take things way to far, and now hair dying (or so-called "coloring") has reached epidemic proportions, as women are less and less satified with what they have, or looking natural.
If a guy is seen taking a picture in for a particular hairdo, someone might be tempted to punch him on the way out.

You can bring in a picture if you want, just like you don't have to bring a picture in if you don't want to. Lots of people do, and I don't think it matters if you're a girl or a guy. Think of it this way: Wouldn't you want to be happy cuz you got exactly what you wanted? Without the picture, you'll have to describe it to the stylist and hope for the best, whereas with the pic he/she can see exactly what you're talking about. And if the stylist thinks that isn't a good look for you, and if it's a good stylist, they'll explain it to you and work with you to come up with something similar but better.
Also, I don't think it matters where the picture came from--I doubt the stylist is gonna be like, "Dude! Did you get this offa Myspace!?" As long as he or she is getting paid, I don't think they're gonna care.

Men usually don't bring photos w/ them but then they don't get the cut they want.
Go ahead & bring a photo w/ you so your stylist can see what you mean. A good stylist will tailor the cut to suit you.
Other sources for photos: www.matrix.com - has a section of men's hair cuts or GQ magazine

Why not!!?? I would imagine that would be the perfect way to communicate the style you want to the stylist...listen, the stylist is not within your social circle is he/she? so what do you care what they think? try it, you have nothing to lose, and maybe everything to gain!...oh, also, if you don't get what you want, there is no excuse on the part of the stylist, you can simply say, politely, you have not cut my hair how I asked and it should be altered to please you.....no communication problems!!!! Good Luck...and nowadays, it matters not if you are a girl or a guy, you want a service, go get it!

I sometimes take pics of other people with me and sometimes I find a pic out of a book at the salon. Either way I mean, if it's want you want take the pic with you.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.....unless you want to keep getting the wrong style.
I cut all my family's hair....a pic helps if they don't explain it correctly.

no, noone should ever do that becuase just becuase it looks good on your favorite actor does not mean it is going to look the same on you. I just go with the beaticians recommendations as to what would look good with respect to the shape of my face and texture of my hair.

i think bringing a picture is a great idea so that the hairstylist will have an idea to cut your hair.
