Can you search the web on web t.v or is it just for e-mails???

Yes, you can search and surf the web using WebTV. Not every web-page will render quite correctly using a TV instead of a monitor, but it does work OK. You can't download though.

You can search the web. I used to do tech support for Web TV users years ago, and some of them complained of web pages not displaying correctly. I'm not sure how much better it's gotten recently.

people still use webtv ???

yes you can surf the net but what you can do is VERY LIMITED
