ur only supposed to leave them in for 20-21 minutes..so there is no real way to tell

If you want to hard boil eggs, turn the heat off after the water comes to a boil, then leave the eggs in the water for 20 minutes. They'll be done perfectly.

I'd give them ten minutes in boiling water.

all you need to do is bring em up to a hard boil and once they float turn the heat off and let them cool down.
