The egg. Since the birds have only been around for, as it appears, about 200 million years. The question itself doesn't specify "chicken egg" and over 500 million years ago prehistoric creatures were laying eggs, the egg came long before the chicken and will be here long after.

as much as i like to see this argued
"the chicken came first cuz the egg comes from the chicken"
when i see that i just want to say ... so where does the chicken come from?
and they both came at the same time cuz when an egg is laid the inside is a chicken .. but just not developed.. .. the egg was made with a chicken inside so they both came at the same time.

The egg.
Chickens didn't start as chickens. They probably started as some obscure race that we would never recognize as chickens.
However, that race began to change and evolve, and with each new baby race-ling thingy, they became more like chickens, until one day, a fully developed chicken hatched out of the chicken laid by a pre-chicken.

In the famous chicken vs egg race?
The chicken made it to the finish line first.
Why?
Eggs don't have legs.

This morning: breakfast: scrambled eggs.
Right now: dinner: chicken quesadillas.
Ergo: the egg came first.

The Easter bunny came first. He has a factory in which he produces the eggs.

I don't think that either one happened a definitive moment. I think that some animal obscurely related to a chicken evolved into what we call a chicken.
