Yes. It was a blatantly racist remark. If he's not fired how can white people in America claim that they consider black people their equals and that black people receive a fair shake in American Society?

Absolutely! This is NOT the first time Imus has made insulting racial comments...and perhaps if he is canned, it might be the LAST time. How do you say "nappy headed hos" without malice? However, Imus is not the only public figure who has disrespected black women. What about Eddie Murphy with is disgusting Norbit movie? What about the producers of Big Mama's house? When are people going to stop treating black women as we are fair game when it comes to stereotyping, defaming and demeaning? I for am just tired of it! It's almost like you have to be thin and blonde to get any sort of respect or love in this society...and it stinks!!!

Absolutely. Any other radio personality on any station, or TV person, would be fired immediately if they made a racist and degrading comment on the air. Don't see why Imus is special. Our society today does not accept racial slurs or degrading remarks about young women. And it should not start allowing them. We have free speech, but part of that freedom is the consequences of what we might say.

Don Imus is like Howard Stern. He says thing that shocks people. Why can't people just ignore comments like that? I've seen comments with that advice given on Yahoo Answers many times. If someone is bothering you, ignore them. If someone says something offending, just ignore them.
Well i guess Sharpton can't ignore them.

Well, the same Cons that are defending Imus, are SCREAMING for O'Donnel to be, and she didn't insult anyone.
She simply questioned her government.

I think it is hilarious that white ppl love to say " freedom of speech" , "it's more than likely true", "get over it" and in the same breath say they are not racist. I personally don't mind the overt racist, at least with them I know. It's the lying covert ones that piss me off. Does he have the right to say what he wants on air, sure and Janet Jackson also had the right to show her black a.s.s tit on air too....Now what?
