Smart casual = business casual.

Guidelines:
1) wear a button blouse w/ a sweater or jacket or a twinset

2) wear business trousers or skirts (ex. wool gabardine or twill)

3) dress shoes - low heeled pumps or leather flats.

4) conservative accessories (ex. pearl stud earrings, leather belts, watch, simple handbag)

5) clean manicure (i.e. short - medium lengths w/ clear, soft pink or French nail polish)

Retailers: www.landsend.com, www.talbots.com, www.llbean.com, www.bananarepublic.com, & a few items from the wear to work section of www.oldnavy.com

Avoid jeans or denim skirts, trendy jewelry, baggy clothing, excessive logos on handbags, scarves, etc.
