Yes, EVERYONE has it hard, but some have it harder than others, when we die, some lived very happy lives with families and children and wealth and some killed themselves because they had nobody and never was happy. You just have to be lucky. Since this is our only chance of our exiestence, we must make the most of it, some live it happy, some sadly. Not fair.

while it might be life sometimes, and even humans can either be born with or develop problems that affect their happiness,,,,, or a tragedy happen,,,,, that they cant overcome,,,,,,, i truly believe alot of it has to do with how the children grow up,,,,,, the treatment they get from both those in their close families,, and society,,,,,,,, if given a good beginning, people seem to excel,,,, often in spite of other conditions,,,,,,, also, another major factor is that it isnt life, so much as some humans greed, that puts others in hard situations,,,,,, once again, if people were born into non-violence, that greed is not ok, and to take care of their fellow earth inhabitants,,, this would cure, i think , alot of hardships
ps: i do not know what country you are from, but i find it amazing that here in the USA,,, we bemoan violence, war,,,, death, cruelty,,,,,, yet we have not yet outlawed the hitting of children (some still try to make it seem better by calling it spanking), until we can atleast give children the expectation of growing up without direct violence, how can we hope for much better for the world ?

I agree that some of us have it harder than others- and it's repugnant.

But I am sorry to differ with you about luck...you said that you just have to be "lucky." I think I understand your line of reasoning and logic, in that it seems to happen at Fate's hands. You may be born into a wealthy family or have all kinds of advantages based upon being born into a certain group. God doesn't parlay with the universe- rather, it happens for some design.

I am not happy right now in my life because of the lack of money. It is horribly depressing. I have little power or control over a lot of things, save for what I am thinking right now. I despise this situation, but I am trying to make it better for me.

Life is most CERTAINLY Not fair. No f'ing way. Life has never been, nor will it ever be, fair.

There are the haves and the have nots. I am one of the have nots. That modicum notwithstanding, I am trying to still be cheerful about the painful adventure known as my life.

This is just another was of restating the old "problem of evil". People have been arguing about that one for centuries. If you don't get an answer for it this evening (well it's evening where I am) don't get strung out about it.
My answer is, (and please don't think this is too flip) is -who said it was fair? I don't remember any contract or bargain or promise? I am here because several billion years ago this planet became suitable for carbon based life. It's all a great swirling ball of random chance.
I realize that this is where many people say-- oh ok so if it's all random chance where's the meaning in life, why don't we all just go out and shoot ourselves?
I say, fine if you want to, but You can make your own meaning in your life. For the blue green algae, it was enough just to divide and make more algae. More complex life forms seem to want more.

"life isn't fair".what does this really mean.lets look at it word by word."life" ,i think, means the some of a human's or humans experiences in their lifetime."isn't"means not.and not just "sometimes isn't" but simply, definitively, and continually isn't.
"fair"i think means two things.if something is fair then the status gain or loss will be the same for all involved.if something is fair then the loss or gain had is high or low enough, relative to some predetermined level.

so life isn't fair means that,"the status of the sum of all human experience is never equal relative to a predetermined level."
two things need fixing.one,"life" is fair sometimes, depending on the size of the concerned group.two, the "predetermined level" is very important.how do we know that a certain amount of loss or gain is proper.we seem to put a measure on situations using some moral unit.this comes from the "predetermined level".maybe this "thing" is our conscience.

in conclusion,is life fair.sometimes yes and sometimes no.you might ask "why do bad things happen to good people".since when were we good people.we do terrible things.so then"why do good things happen to bad people"and remember,we are all bad people.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I think hard times are an opportunity. You have the choice to do something positive or negative with your life and the lot you've been dealt. Unfortunately, not everyone is equipped the same coping skills. I do think its very sad. I'm a 911 dispatcher and I take calls from lots of lonely people who feel like they are alone and have no other options. I try to do the best I can to give them the resources they need to turn their situation into something positive.

I believe that each of us has a number of unique lessons to learn in this lifetime and these lessons are learned through the choices we make in our particular situations over a lifetime. If a person CHOOSES to glue themselves to a computer trying to help people, that is their choice and no one should feel sad for them because in their own way, they are trying their best to make the world just a little bit better. No one ever said anything about life being fair or easy. It is What it is and we each handle it in our own way.
BTW, I do have a life, but I enjoy answering thought provoking questions because it keeps my mind working. Its kind of like working out at the Gym to improve your physical health. I have noticed an improvement in the speed and accuracy of my thought processes.

If the Bible is true then:
Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" and Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death;" so I am glad that life is not always fair because otherwise everyone would die and go to hell, including me. Evil started with Adam's sin in Eden in the beginning and continues today. Romans 6:23 goes on to say "but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." It's a gift. You cannot earn it.

Sin is bad and it always leads eventually to bad consequences but because God is merciful, it usually will not destroy you right away. God is very patient with this world and everyone in it although He is more patient with some than with others. I don't understand this either.

I do know that when you suffer the consequences from smoking, drinking, drugs, sex outside of wedlock, stealing, killing, lying, coveting, dishonoring your parents, gluttony, unforgiveness, and any other sin, you are getting exactly what you deserve and if it's not literal hell, then God is showing you mercy. I also know that our sins affect others and we are particularly affected by our parents, teachers, friends, and enemies. Some of these people you can choose, so choose wisely. As for the rest, God will be there to heal you and help you endure if you will only give your life to Him. I have experienced this numerous times in my life.

By the way, for those who think that a bad world proves there is no God, I want to remind you that Jesus never said that life would be easy for anyone. He told His disciples that they would be persecuted for what they believed in many times over. Besides, if there is no God, then there is absolutely no such thing as good or evil. It is only in the eye of the beholder. In the tribe of Benjamin in ancient Israel, a man stayed at someone's house and the men outside wanted to rape him. Rather than be raped himself, he gave them his concubine, so they raped her all night and killed her. Then the tribe of Benjamin would not give up the evil men to the other tribes of Israel to be brought to justice, so there was civil war in the nation of Israel. After thousands of Benjaminites were killed and thousands of Israelites from other tribes were killed in the warfare, the other tribes decided that it wouldn't be good to eliminate the tribe of Benjamin and the Benjaminites that had survived needed wives. So, the other tribes suggested that the Benjaminites take wives from the people who didn't participate in the war, by brute force. They slaughtered the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead except for the virgin girls and when that wasn't enough, they instructed the Benjaminites to kidnap young ladies from a feast in Shiloh to marry them. Why did this happen?

Judges 21:25b "every man did that which was right in his own eyes." The story is in Judges 18-21. The Bible's recording history here, not condoning the behavior of the Israelites.

Far as I can see, Jesus is the only hope that someday this world will be a good place and that will only happen when He comes back and sets it right by brute force. People usually don't listen to what He says voluntarily and sin still leads to death, no matter what you believe, both physical and spiritual. There remains a blessed hope for those who will follow Jesus as their Lord, which means that they will obey Him, and their Savior, which means that He will save them in the end. They will also be loved and cherished by Him, if by no one else but anyone who knows God knows that He is enough; even when life goes bad.

Why does there have to be a reason? Why does life has to be fair?
I think the search for reasons for unanswerable questions lead people to embrace ludicrious things like religion and cults.
It makes more sense to me to say, "There is no reason." then to invent one that makes me feel better. Because ultimately, it's not fair or right that some people die of poverty, and to try to make it okay demeans every person that lives and dies in poverty.

I believe every event effecting life on earth (other than natural disasters) are the result of decisions made by someone. Sometime the effected people had nothing to do with the decision, but they become the result of that decision.
