I experienced a number of menstrual problems last year, so here's my advice:

*immediately book an appointment -- not just with your gynecologist, but an endocrinologist if possible (they handle hormonal disorders, and menstruation is affected by most hormonal imbalances)

*take iron, as recommended by your doctor, because blood loss = low iron = less oxygen = weakness

*don't do anything over strenuous -- rest up and eat well

*if this is an ongoing thing your doctor will probably recommend birth control pill to help regulate your cycle

It sounds like you became anemic from the heavy bleeding. You'll need to see a doctor for treatment.
Iron supplements can help you out in the future. It won't help too much now that you are already anemic, so you still need to get to a doctor to get a blood test and an evaluation

Because there are a number of possibilities that could be causing this this needs to be evaluated by your dr to try and figure out what could be causing the problem.
