There was a movie that there was a girl named Sawyer, and then on "Lost" there is a guy named Sawyer as well. So either way. You might want to give a girl a girly middle name though, just incase she wants to go by that when she gets older.

To me, it sounds like a boys name. However, I just read a book where it was a girls name.
When I think of Sawyer, I think of Tom Sawyer though.

Sawyer is def a boys name, I've never once heard it used for a girl. According to babynames.com it's for either boy or girl though.
