Someone asked the question on here why so many modern Turks had had eyes like chinese.It is simply that their ancesters came from the plains of central Asia and most modern Turks are quite proud of that and name their children after great Mongol leaders.The Turks because of their empire and breeding with other races have lost the asian look but their are a few people still about who look like their ancestors.Persia was also invaded and occupied by various central asian peoples over the centuries.

The Turks came from what is now western Chen. Turkish is spoken in some form all along the Silk Road. Many Uzbeks still have the slanting 'Chinese' eyes - even in Afghanistan.
Also depiction of people in Persian art had, for centuries, to comply with strict rules. The true to life representation of a person, as seen in the paintings of the Italian Renaissance was not simply frowned upon, but forbidden.

It just could be that when the artworks were produced, settlers of Genghis Khan's army of Mongols had already settled in both Persia and Turkey. In effect becoming rulers of same.

I am not sure what you mean by ancient. The Mongols conquered Persia in the 13 th century. It is in the interest of artists to portray the rich and powerful.

Nomadic lifesyles of the groups, interbreeding, conquering armies, there where no borders, no passport control, is it any wonder that artistic styles where copied used and adapted, if you look at the history of art in any country on the planet you will see a homegenous blend of artistic styles ,influenced by any of the above. regards LF
