my hamster has a big red lump on it's right hind leg.I'm not sure whether I should be worried about it or not.Anyone know what it might be?

my hamster has a red lump on it's leg and i'm not sure what it might be exacly.Does it cost much to have it checked up and get some medicine for it?If so,how much?

it could be a tumor or a cyst, you should take it to a vet because my hamster had a noncancerous tumor and they gave her medicine, it came back recently but she is fine, take your hamster to a vet as soon as possible

If you had this big red lump on YOUR leg would you be worried? Would you go to the Dr over it? Do the same for your hamster.

poor wee hamster , thy are so cute and small, my son has 3 hamster´s 1 of them had a red lump just above it´s little bottom, we took it to the vet ,but he said it was a small infection and gave some small drop´s, if you are worried and you love your little hamster ,take it along to the vet just to be sure. For goodness sake DON'T try lancing this yourself as suggested - I mean, what if it isn't an abscess or a cyst for heaven's sake? You could make it worse.
It could be anything, please have a vet check it out. You should always be worried about something medical if you don't know what it is! And no one on Yahoo Answers can diagnose it - we haven't SEEN it!

it could be a cyst but I definately recommend you take your hamster to the vet just to be safe.
